The Little Chick.

Such was his excitement when hubby brought home a little chick. He placed it on his head.

Even between his lower limbs when watching tv. You should see the look on my face seeing it on my bed.

Of course it's fun seeing a kid take care of a pet but the idea of him holding and playing with it in his tender age is rather unfavorable.  This opted me to put little chickee away from him but making sure I fed it few times a day.

Had it not been for my protective nature for this kid, the little chick wouldn't live up to 9 days.

In time, he will have the opportunity to take care of a pet when he is old enough.

That's a promise.

Halloween 2013.

Once again we gathered for another fun-filled occasion-- to get together, celebrate birthdays for the month and Halloween, as well. With a few responsibles planning and organizing, What else could go wrong?

People from different cultures, beliefs and walks in life may have varied views on Halloween.  Some folks from religious sects remain conservative and continues to claim of Halloween as satanic.

It is NOT our purpose to celebrate the dark side nor embrace satanism.

Morning Walk At The Park.

I may have missed last week's fun run but I am getting ready for the next one. I felt I was not ready yet having missed out on my usual day-to-day date with T.J. Storm (Cardio Kungfu), Shaun T (Hip-hop Abs Workout) and the twice a week Zumba sessions at the mall.

With my friends in the 5K run, it would be so embarassing if I fail their expectations.

So, I have resolved to bring physical fitness back into my life!

In days I couldn't go out even for a walk because of bad weather, or simply because there's no one else to watch for baby yo, then I find myself choosing from my variety of dance workout DVDs.

Thanks a lot to technology!

Even a visit to my father's grave makes me feel like taking a walk or do a light run in the vast memorial park.

And finding wonderful friends with same interests is an added bonus.

Whenever a digi-cam is ready, along comes a photo shoot!  :)

PINK FOR OCTOBER

Being Breast Cancer Awareness month for 2013, some programs are supported by various organizations, government and non-government as well.

Finding people who help fund institutions supporting men and women with breast cancer is remarkable.

Below are some paintings on exhibit at SM-Cagayan de Oro for the benefit of THRIVE CDO BREAST CANCER ADVOCACY GROUP.

The Fall.

I did had time with friends and joined a despedida dinner at TGI Fridays. But it gave me something to remember.

A SORED KNEE.

Actually both knees feels terrible even when I'm seated like this. Perhaps, the fact that I am left-handed,  it's my left knee that did most in saving my whole weight.

Imagine me, trying to finish a drink--I had to do it straight as hubby had a series of calls already, waiting for me in a bookstore in the same mall. Alright, I had said my goodbyes to almost everyone when I reached the uneven flooring near the door that I lost my balance. It was something I never expected. Although I managed to immediately get-up and leave the restaurant, it was only when I was far enough for them to see was I able to run my hands on my aching knees.

Ouch, ouch...OUCH!

Baby Yo at 41 months

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies at the gate. Ps 127:3-5

I consider him as God's gift to us. Watching him grow up into what he is today brings me so much joy.

Thank you Baby Yo for teaching everyone in the family how to give more love. The value of self-sacrifice, discipline, self-control, gentleness and patience.

And for every little learning we both have as days go by.

I love you.

The Mall Show.

Upon learning son will be performing with his school choir in the same mall me, dad and baby yo were in that late afternoon, I took the chance to take a glimpse while they were at the kiddie fun house. As estimated, little bundle of joy's playtime will be due in 30-45 minutes--with only one (1) watcher allowed inside the playhouse, the idea of wanting to peep through at the Activity Center became increasingly inviting.

With hubby's permission, I almost run to get there.

Uh, oh! Looks like the show has already started and they (group in black) were singing as some local performers were on stage. And--oh, dear! I would get a blur if I zoom my little cam.

It was when a group of guys took center stage and later individually came forward to the microphone to introduce themselves that I looked up at the purple logo on the upper left side and realized it was a male pageant.

Pardon me but I couldn't exactly recall this portion. They incorporated a little humor when they danced, took off their shirts and ramped. Hmm.. this must be the sports attire portion. lol!

Seriously, they came back in their formal wear. There was a moment of silence as their designers stood nervously anticipating to win as their bets wore their creations. Delivering her spiel, in her bare back awesome gown is Miss Cagayan 2012.

Then it was son's group singing once again. And still I couldn't find the best spot for their shots. But then, I couldn't just give up. So, here goes!

If only he would turn around in my direction. Just like the girl in front him.

Finally, he did look my way. And I was so unprepared this resulted.

Ha ha.. and time constraint made me go leave the show unfinished. Oh, dear!

Happy Birthday Paw!

Moving birthday celebrations on a weekend to ensure more people could grace the occasion is a practical thing to do.  So, here we are again--at the beach!

It was baby yo's chance to play in the sand..

and swim and wade in the water.

He even partake in the fun of burying my niece best friend in the sand.

Look in here--my niece and some of her friends made few jumps while I tried to capture the joy in their faces while doing it.

Caught on cam!

This is the photo.

How was your weekend?

THE DARK TOWER ll: THE DRAWING OF THE THREE

Have you ever been tempted to read part two (2)  first of a four (4) volume novel? Imagine the confuse state you may be in when you get a hold of another volume? Relating the characters and how significant they may be in the tale does not only lead the reader perplexed but disoriented as well.

If , like me, you can't simply resist what is in the bookshelf, let this be a guide for the next volume hopping.

Inspired by the Robert Browning's narrative poem, 'Childe Roland To The Dark Tower Came," Stephen King wrote a series of four (4) volume novels on Roland of Gilead, a kind of knight, the last of his breed's obsessive quest for the Dark Tower.

The second volume, The Drawing of the Three, begins on the edge of the Western Sea, not long after Roland awakens from his confrontation with his old nemesis and discovers Walter-- the man in black, who pretended friendship with Roland's father but who actually served Marten, a great sorcerer-- long dead, only more bones in a place of bones. The exhausted gunslinger is attacked by carnivorous 'lobstrities' (pictured as gigantic man-eating lobsters) and before he can escape them, he has been seriously wounded, losing the first two fingers of his right hand. He is also poisoned by their bites, and as he resumes his trek along the Western Sea, Roland is sickening...perhaps dying.

On his walk, he encounters three doors standing freely on the beach. These open into the city of New York, at three different whens. From 1987, Roland draws Eddie Dean, a prisoner. From 1964, he draws Odetta Susannah Holmes, a woman who has lost her lower legs in a subway mishap...one that was no accident. She is indeed a lady of shadows, with a second personality within the socially committed black woman her friends know. This hidden woman, the violent and crafty Detta Walker, is determined to kill both Roland and Eddie when the gunslinger draws her into Mid-World.

Between these two in time, once again in 1977, Roland enters the hellish mind of Jack Mort, who has hurt Odetta/Detta not once but twice. 'Death,' the man in black told Roland, 'but not for you, gunslinger.' Nor is Mort the third of whom Walter foretold; Roland prevents Mort from murdering Jake Chambers, and shortly after Mort dies beneath the wheels of the same train which took Odetta's legs in 1959. Roland thus fails to draw the psychotic into Mid-World. But he thinks, who would want such a being in any case.

Roland thinks that perhaps he has drawn three in just Eddie and Odetta, since Odetta is a double personality, yet when Odetta and Detta merge as one in Susannah (thanks in large part to Eddie Dean's love and courage), the gunslinger knows it's not so. He knows something else as well: he is tormented by thoughts of Jake, the boy who, dying, spoke of other worlds. Half of the gunslinger's mind, in fact, believes there never was a boy. In preventing Jack Mort from pushing Jake in front of the car meant to kill him, Roland has created a temporal paradox which is tearing him apart. And, in our world, it is tearing Jake Chambers apart as well.

Happy Reading!

Relieving Abdominal Pain Without the Pill.

In my tender years, I  have learned a few things from my elder sister. With both parents working hard for our provisions, she is more than a helping hand--from proper use of the pad, feminine hygiene, and managing the most hated abdominal cramps.

The Hot Water Bottle. Containers for warmth in bed had been in use since the 16th century. Modern conventional bottles come in varied form, though how it may physically represent does not matter as long as it is secured and serves its purpose.

Its preparation comes very easy. Tap water from the faucet and some previously boiled water depending on the level of warmth you may need. If it's too warm, you can pour out some and replace with more tap water or wrap the bottle with a cloth to protect your skin when applied on the spot that needs warmth. The beautiful thing about it is you can fall back to sleep. This gives some relief especially for menstrual cramps.

A warm bath is another form of relieving menstrual cramps. Warm baths are believed to relax the muscles in the body, making the pain less noticeable.

Walking around can also alleviate the pain. For best results, walk briskly for 30 minute cycles at least three times a day.

Depending on the degree of pain a woman may suffer, it is advisable not just to stay quiet about it. If what you learned from your friends isn't enough; if the pain is consistent, it would be best to see the doctor for medical advice.

Weekend at the beach.

My brother's homecoming is always anticipated. His career in the entertainment world makes him go to different places here and abroad. This is often the reason why we make time to meet each time he unexpectedly comes home.

Watch what's going to happen. My brother is about to share something and my sister can't help laughing...

See how much we miss having fun together! I love the bangs but I would rather keep my hair away from my face especially when I'm at the beach.

One thing I like about getting together is being with my siblings friends. In a way, their friends become my friends. And I get to see the common factor that makes friendships wonderful.

The FUN factor and the freedom to be yourself.

Happy Weekend  Bonding!
